Haus Weltmann
Haus Weltmann stands in Bremen’s Oberneuland district as a white-plastered villa with a hipped roof. Hans Haering designed the building in the reform style around the turn of the century. Construction took place between 1911 and 1913 for Consul Carl Weltmann. The villa has two storeys and a distinctive roofline. Between 1920 and 1922, builders converted Haus Weltmann into a two-family house with a rear extension. That work also added a chicken house to the property. H. Nordmann designed the extension for F.W. Siebold, while Heinz-Georg Rehberg designed a later garage. A park-like garden surrounds the house, while large bay windows mark its exterior. Today, the villa forms part of Casa Vita Oberneuland, a private care centre with senior apartments on the premises. Bremen’s monument preservation laws have protected Haus Weltmann since 2003 for its architectural and historical significance.
