Julia Stoschek Collection Berlin
Julia Stoschek Collection Berlin occupies a former Czech cultural institute in Berlin, built during the 1960s. The private collection focuses on time-based media art, with video installations, photography and performance works.
Inside, a library, cinema hall and former sales and administrative rooms create distinct exhibition spaces. Around 700 works by mainly European and American artists explore digital culture, often through post-internet practices shaped by science, philosophy and collaboration.
The building retains its original appearance from before the fall of the Berlin Wall, while a white curtain crosses the interior. That curtain guides visitors between bright and dark areas, adding a new layer to the architecture without concealing its earlier use.
