Casa de Can Ferrer
Casa de Can Ferrer is a historic house in the Galvany neighbourhood, part of Barcelona's Sant Gervasi district. The district is known for its residential character, its green spaces and a mix of historic and modern buildings. Galvany itself has grown from individual villas and open fields into an urbanised quarter of apartment blocks and public amenities.
The house and its gardens are being converted into a public facility for the neighbourhood. The plan opens the gardens to everyone and rehabilitates the building to host community activities and services. The project belongs to a wider initiative that brings quality public spaces to the southern part of Sant Gervasi. The approach echoes the Joan Maragall Library and the Vil·la Florida Civic Center. Both are social and cultural hubs for the area. Residents join discussions about what the building and its grounds should become. Across Barcelona, neighbourhood councils and local associations play an active part in shaping how their communities grow.
The work keeps local heritage in use while fitting it for present-day needs. The house stands as an example of how Barcelona repurposes historic properties to serve the public. The aim is to give Galvany a focal point for community life. The gardens open to the people who live around them.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Barcelona. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
