วัดมหรรณพารามวรวิหาร
Wat Mahannapharam Worawihan, also called Wat Mahanop, is a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, Thailand. Its grounds bring together royal history, Buddhist art and a lasting connection with public education.
Prince Annop began construction in 1850 during King Rama III’s reign, with 80,000 baht from the king. King Rama IV provided another 80,000 baht, completing the temple during his reign. In 1884, the abbot established Thailand’s first public school here after King Rama V encouraged temples to educate the public. A statue of Rama V now marks the school’s centenary, while the temple and its historic objects have stood on the national register since 1949.
Inside the ubosot, Luang Por Bunyarit shows the Ayutthaya style associated with Rama III’s era. Pra Ruang Thong Kam stands in the wihan, a Sukhothai-style image cast with 60 percent gold from the Sukhothai period. Devotees also donate rattan takraw balls, giving children a place to play within the temple grounds.
