Chatuchak Weekend Market fills Bangkok’s Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road with more than 15,000 stalls arranged across 27 sections. You move through a loop of walkways lined with clothing, plants, food, ceramics, furniture, books, antiques and electronics.
Open since 1942, the market moved to Chatuchak in 1982 and adopted its present name in 1987. Its sections also include cosmetics, pets, handicrafts, art and home accessories, while more than 200,000 visitors pass through each weekend. Kamphaeng Phet MRT, Chatuchak Park MRT and Mo Chit BTS stations connect this sprawling marketplace with Bangkok.
A clock tower built in 1987 commemorates King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s sixtieth birthday and provides a distinctive landmark among the stalls.
