Domingo Rivero

Domingo Rivero stands in Spain as a public portrait of the poet, set within a small urban rotunda. A single figure meets pedestrians and passing traffic in this compact open space. The bronze sculpture brings a cultural memory into the ordinary movement of the street.

Wenceslao Herrera García completed the work in 2002, giving the round plaza a place for public remembrance. Its position turns everyday circulation into a brief encounter with the poet’s presence. People passing through can pause beside the figure, where verse, footsteps and local memory meet. The statue’s quiet presence makes the rotunda feel like a small stage between present life and the past.
