Park van Eden
Park van Eden spreads across about twenty-three hectares in Antwerp, on land that was once used for agriculture. Fourteen hectares welcome everyone, while the remaining area forms a nature reserve managed with Natuurpunt. Opened in 2013, the site combines woodland, ponds, gardens and open areas for play and exploration.
Natural materials shape the experience: tree trunks, sand, water, willow huts and long willow tunnels replace conventional playground equipment. Children helped design the play area, which includes a tree-trunk arena and water valleys covered with pebbles, stones and sand. Around four hectares carry wildflower mixes, bringing seasonal colour and habitat for plants and animals.
Ponds receive runoff from a nearby business park before it reaches the play area, helping store water and reduce flooding. An old anti-tank channel survives beside community gardens, an orchard, an educational zone and a petanque court. Natuurpunt also organises guided walks, while a long barbecue table, tree-trunk benches and a ping-pong table support relaxed visits.

The myTuur app is free, and once you are standing at a spot its story starts by itself.
Spots like this one are the stops myTuur strings into tours through Antwerp. In the app, each story begins where you stand: walk up to a spot and it starts, read it on screen or listen as you go, then follow the route to the next one.
What is myTuur?
myTuur is a free city-guide app. Its tours are built from spots, and each spot carries a story that starts when you get there, to read or to listen to as you like.
