Museum De Reede

Museum De Reede is a private Antwerp museum devoted entirely to graphic art and works on paper. Its collection includes lithographs, engravings, etchings, woodcuts, drawings and watercolours. The permanent collection centres on Francisco Goya, Edvard Munch and Félicien Rops, whose works examine human experience. Goya’s etchings form a central part of the collection. Munch contributes lithographs, while Rops appears through etchings and additional works from private collections. Their subjects turn towards society, individuality, life and death.

The museum also presents graphic artists from Belgium and abroad, linking established names with lesser-known practitioners. Its works span several centuries of graphic art. Temporary exhibitions create a dialogue with the permanent collection through varied artists, materials and graphic traditions. Traditional Korean hanji paper appears among these traditions.
