DIVA

DIVA is a museum in Antwerp devoted to diamonds, jewellery, silver, and the craftsmanship surrounding them. Near the Grote Markt, it stands in a historic district where goldsmiths, silversmiths, and jewellers have worked for centuries. The galleries connect Antwerp’s diamond trade with the city’s long tradition of precious-metal artistry.

The permanent exhibition, A Brilliant Story, follows diamonds and silverware from raw material to finished object. Displays show diamond mining, silversmithing, changing techniques, and artistic uses across several centuries. Jewellery, silverware, and related objects reveal how materials, styles, and skilled hands shape Antwerp’s heritage.

An audio guide brings individual pieces into focus, including earrings, teapots, and candlesticks. Families can follow Ekster’s discovery trail, while the Atelier offers workshops and demonstrations for professionals and amateurs. Sensory tours use touch and smell to make the objects accessible to blind and visually impaired visitors.
