Cecil John Rhodes
Cecil John Rhodes v Kapskom Meste približuje britského finančníka a politika spojeného s dejinami južnej Afriky. V rokoch 1890 až 1896 pôsobil ako predseda vlády Kapskej kolónie. Jeho pôsobenie súviselo s rozširovaním britského vplyvu v regióne.
V diamantových poliach Kimberley vybudoval obchodné partnerstvá, ktoré viedli k založeniu spoločnosti De Beers Consolidated Mines v roku 1888. Tá neskôr kontrolovala 90 percent svetovej produkcie diamantov. Rhodes podporil aj štipendiá na Oxfordskej univerzite, no jeho odkaz zostáva spätý s kolonializmom a vykorisťovaním južnej Afriky.
