Bo-Kaap view
נקודת התצפית Bo-Kaap view פותחת מבט אל בו-קאאפ, שכונה צבעונית בקייפטאון עם בתים בגוונים עזים. כאן חיה קהילת הקייפ-מאליי, בעלת מורשת תרבותית ואסלאמית. שורשיה מגיעים לאמצע המאה השבע-עשרה, כאשר חברת הודו המזרחית ההולנדית הביאה לאזור אנשים משועבדים ממלזיה, אינדונזיה, מדגסקר והודו. הקהילה שימרה את אמונתה, מנהגיה ואת מטבחה הייחודי.
מוזיאון בו-קאאפ שוכן בבניין העתיק ביותר בשכונה ומציג את תולדות הקהילה. רהיטים מעשה ידיים ותצלומים מתעדים מסורות כמו הקרנבל Kaapse Klopse. חנויות תבלינים, ובהן Atlas Trading, מספקות מרכיבים למאכלים כמו סמוסות, קויסיסטרס וקארי קייפ-מאליי. המטבח משלב טעמים שמקורם במלזיה, באינדונזיה, במדגסקר ובהודו.
הבתים משלבים סגנונות ג'ורג'יאני וקייפ-הולנדי, עם גגות שטוחים וצבעים בולטים. הצבעים נקשרו לסמל של חירות לאחר שאנשים משועבדים הורשו לרכוש נכסים. סידור הרחובות והמבנים השתמר במידה רבה, גם מול לחצי הפיתוח המודרני. הקהילה ידועה בהכנסת אורחים ובשיתוף אוכל עם מבקרים. בו-קאאפ מתמודד גם עם ג'נטריפיקציה, שעלולה לשנות את אופיו ההיסטורי ואת מרקם הקהילה. רוח המקום ניכרת באנשים, במסורות ובמטבח הייחודי.
