Suding und Soeken
Suding und Soeken is a historic gabled merchant house on Langenstraße in Bremen, just west of Martinistraße. Langenstraße runs west from Marktplatz, parallel to the Weser, along one of Bremen’s oldest routes. From the street, a projecting Renaissance bay window gives the façade a distinctive vertical focus.
Built around 1630, the house belongs to the Weser Renaissance tradition and survived the war without damage. Renovations around 1730 added the bay window. Inside, a large entrance hall contains Bremen’s only intact two-tiered Baroque staircase of its kind. Residence and goods storage shaped its earlier use. In 1902, a paint company altered the interior after moving into the building.
The house has been a listed monument since 1973, while Reesa products have been distributed from the premises since 1922. An information plaque outside carries a QRpedia code, linking the historic façade with further architectural detail.
