Unteres Belvedere
Unteres Belvedere is a Baroque palace in Vienna, built as Prince Eugene of Savoy’s residence. Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt designed this Baroque palace in Vienna.
Its former residential and ceremonial rooms include the Marmorsaal, Marmorgalerie, Goldenes Zimmer, and Groteskensaal. The Marmorsaal is known for its marble decoration inside the palace.
The Orangery hosts temporary art exhibitions, while the former Prunkstall presents Austrian medieval works, including altarpieces, sculptures, and Gothic triptychs. This collection reflects Austrian medieval religious culture through its artworks.
The Belvedere Gardens connect Unteres Belvedere and Oberes Belvedere with terraces, fountains, sculptures, and clipped hedges. Dominique Girard designed the gardens in the French style.
The museum presents exhibitions across the palace, Orangery, and former stables, covering medieval, Renaissance, and later art. The palace forms part of Vienna’s cultural heritage.
The palace is wheelchair accessible for visitors exploring its historic rooms and exhibitions. The Belvedere complex includes the Oberes Belvedere.
