Cueva de los Canarios
Cueva de los Canarios occupies the high slopes of El Confital, above a bay and offshore islet. Two large cavities cut into weathered rock face west. Smaller hollows spread across two levels, with narrow passages linking spaces once used as homes. Wall and floor holes mark supports for divisions, hanging tools, and storage racks.
Cut silos held grain, while shell middens and nearby millstone quarries reveal food and work. These traces describe an aboriginal community relying on the sea and limited cultivation. Legal protection recognises the place as an archaeological zone, although collapses, occupation, and neglect have brought fences and geotechnical studies. West-facing openings once filled the interiors with afternoon light.
