Villa Knüppel

Villa Knüppel stands in Bremen’s Schwachhausen district as a city villa with a conservative architectural character. Architects Carl Eeg and Eduard Runge designed the house in 1926. Merchant Friedrich Albert Knüppel commissioned the villa during the interwar period. Its design reflects the conservative architectural style associated with the 1920s. Its plastered structure rises above a basement and includes a round turret on the right front side. A broad copper canopy marks the main entrance.

The building houses offices for logistics companies and service providers alongside private residential areas. Later changes divided the house into separate areas. The former pool area in the rear garden became parking space after alterations. Villa Knüppel stands as a protected cultural monument in Bremen. Its designation recognises architectural and historical significance within the city. Carl Eeg and Eduard Runge also shaped other Bremen buildings, including memorials and residential houses. The façade brings together plaster, copper and a rounded vertical form.
