Landhaus Caesar-Ichon
The Landhaus Caesar-Ichon stands in Bremen’s Oberneuland district as a classical villa within a historic estate. Anton Theodor Eggers designed the building in Bremen.
Gerhard Caesar acquired the estate and built the present villa in 1843, creating a white-plastered, two-storey architectural centre. The villa’s classical facade remains distinctive within the estate.
The surrounding park began in 1768, when Gottlieb Altmann laid it out for Simon Hermann Post. Hinrich Retberg later shaped it as an English garden.
The Ichon family acquired the property in 1912, linking its name with the park and its later history. Monument protection has covered the site since 1973.
Today, the estate combines a senior residence with modern facilities and a preserved historical setting. The park covers two hectares and welcomes the public. Its greenery offers a quiet setting beside Bremen’s architectural heritage.
