Wolfsbruch

Wolfsbruch is a nature reserve in Werder (Havel), within Brandenburg’s Potsdam-Mittelmark district. It lies southeast of Töplitz. Wetlands and open water shape this protected landscape. The Havel marks its western edge, while the Wublitz forms the eastern boundary. The Wublitz is a right-bank tributary of the Havel. The Große Zernsee extends south of the reserve. Roads define parts of the surrounding setting: the A10 runs to the northwest, and the L90 lies to the west. These waterways and wet habitats support a range of plant and animal species. Wolfsbruch belongs to a wider network of protected areas across the region. Its conservation purpose centres on maintaining ecological balance and safeguarding natural habitats. The reserve also offers a quiet setting for observing the relationship between rivers, wetlands and nearby land. The landscape connects the Havel, the Wublitz and the Große Zernsee. Wolfsbruch’s protected habitats preserve a distinctive part of Brandenburg’s natural environment.
