St. Alban
St. Alban is the parish church of Oberhausen, a quarter in Germany. Behind the altar, the low choir stands beside the square lower section of the tower. These oldest visible parts date from the last third of the fifteenth century. Their medieval masonry anchors a church shaped by several later building phases.
Around 1750, the church underwent extensive rebuilding before Conrad Huber painted the nave ceiling and galleries in 1780. His scenes still give the interior its distinctive atmosphere. Renovation and restoration continued through 2012 and 2013, while parish life gathers around Ascension Day, the patronal feast and a long-standing choir. A particularly memorable detail is the Schultheiß nativity crib, kept by the parish since the 1930s with its painted oriental backdrop.
