Kursalon Hübner
Kursalon Hübner stands in Vienna as a music hall shaped by Johann Garben’s Italian Renaissance design. Construction followed in Vienna between 1865 and 1867.
The building began as a mineral-water retreat, then opened its rooms to concerts and social gatherings. Johann Strauss gave the first concert there in 1868.
Its grand interiors include four ballrooms across two floors, a restaurant, and a terrace overlooking the City Park. The terrace covers about 1,000 square metres beside the City Park.
Classical programmes feature Strauss, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert, while the venue also accommodates conferences, balls, weddings, and dinners. The Alt Wien orchestra performs there regularly.
Hans Hübner rented the venue in 1908, giving the building the second part of its name. The name connects music with the Hübner family.
The Kursalon’s location reflects Vienna’s changing cityscape after the old fortifications gave way to the Ring Boulevard. Its halls frame concerts and formal gatherings in a historic Viennese setting.
