Knisja tal-Vittorja stands on high ground in Malta, where a small church marks the beginning of a new city after the great siege. Its walls carry the memory of victory, hope, and the first stones placed under Jean de Valette’s vision.
Inside, painted ceiling frescoes show scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary. Careful restoration protects the artwork and the building’s history, while a documentary in the basement connects the church’s past with its preservation. Friendly volunteers explain the paintings and the community that grew around them.
Before you leave, look up at the ceiling: vivid colours and Marian scenes turn the small interior into a record of survival and renewal.
