Galerie im Kornhauskeller
Galerie im Kornhauskeller brings changing art exhibitions to Ulm, inside a well-preserved Renaissance building. Its first-floor rooms provide 360 square metres of exhibition space for artists, free of charge. The historic setting also contains Ulm’s oldest kitchen and a protected blood beech in the courtyard.
About five exhibitions take place each year, with artists selected by a small committee. Blickwechsel brings together three distinct approaches: Martin Krampen’s décollages, Reintraut Semmler’s classical photography and Udo Hudelmaier’s time-based media art. Krampen’s décollages layer and peel away images to create new visual meanings. Semmler’s photographs sit alongside Hudelmaier’s digital and interactive works, connecting established techniques with contemporary media.
The exhibition places local artistic perspectives beside one another across the generous first-floor space. In the courtyard, the protected blood beech adds a living detail to this Renaissance setting.
