Chapelle Sainte-Anne
Chapelle Sainte-Anne sits among trees in a hospital courtyard in France, with simple lines and a quiet presence. The small chapel creates a place for comfort and reflection within the surrounding healthcare buildings.
Monseigneur Maurer laid the first stone in 1958, when the hospital had served its community for thirty years. Hans Stocker designed the stained-glass windows, and the Ott Frères workshop crafted them in blue, red and gold. The chapel held its first mass on 13 December 1959 and received consecration in March 1960. A renovation from 1996 to 1999 preserved the space and its calm atmosphere.
Look for the small bell named Anne, baptised in December 1959. When sunlight passes through the coloured glass, the compact interior fills with warm light.
