Villa Finkenstein
Villa Finkenstein stands in Potsdam’s Nauener Vorstadt as a historic residential building with an Italianate tower. Its southwest tower contains the staircase and entrance, while tall rectangular windows frame the front garden.
A house documented on an 1848 map gained a full upper storey and tower in 1868. The architect Friedrich Gericke added a stable in 1894, and Wilhelm Berend built a northern extension in 1905. After the Second World War, Soviet forces used the property before private ownership returned following German reunification. Core renovation and modernisation in 2003 preserved its architectural history while creating 445 square metres of living space. Its tower design places it among Potsdam’s early tower villas, alongside Villa Henckel on Pfingstberg.
