Coliseu do Porto
Coliseu do Porto is a performance venue in Porto, where concerts, theatre, dance and other live events bring audiences together. Its large auditorium has hosted Portuguese and international artists, including Bob Dylan and Faith No More.
For decades, the building has shaped Porto’s artistic life and northern Portugal’s cultural scene. A rehabilitation project supported by Norte 2030 combines structural repairs with restored original finishes and historic decoration. The work improves safety, accessibility and environmental sustainability while preserving the building’s architectural character. New visitor facilities include a tourist route, an elevator, and a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the city. Energy upgrades include HVAC equipment and photovoltaic solar panels, helping the venue serve future audiences.
Restoration also reaches the main hall’s ceiling and the route towards the roof and tower. The project marks the thirtieth anniversary of the venue’s refoundation between 1995 and 2025.
