Ancien hôtel de Latour-Maubourg
Ancien hôtel de Latour-Maubourg stands at the south-eastern corner of Paris’s Place Vendôme, beside two historic hôtels. It sits beside hôtel Delpech de Chaumot and hôtel Baudard de Saint-James. Financier Urbain Aubert de Tourny commissioned this private mansion in 1711. Paris also records the name hôtel Maleteste.
Financial misconduct forced Tourny to sell the property in 1717 to Marshal Jean Hector de Faÿ de La Tour-Maubourg. The Venetian embassy later rented the mansion. During the French Revolution, government committees also rented the building. In the nineteenth century, Crédit algérien and the Compagnie du Canal de Suez used it. After the Second World War, the Rothschild family joined it to hôtel Baudard de Saint-James. That merger created administrative space and an underground car park.
Since 1971, Crédit foncier de France has owned the property. Luxury watch boutiques occupy part of the building. Patek Philippe and Hublot share the premises with co-working space and Chaumet workshops. The Place Vendôme façades have been listed as historic monuments since 1927.
