Parco in memoria delle Vittime Italiane nei Gulag stands in Milan’s Valsesia district, where a memorial setting shares space with paths and recreation. Since 2005, the former Parco Valsesia has honoured Italian victims of the Gulag and those harmed by deportation.
The 76,700-square-metre grounds form part of a green route linking this area with Parco Annarumma for walking and cycling. Sports facilities remain separate from quieter resting areas. Basketball and volleyball courts, a skating rink, and fitness trails of 400 and 800 metres support active visits. Children have play areas for younger and older age groups.
A 4,000-square-metre enclosed dog area gives pets room to move. Silver maple, tulip tree, and Himalayan cedar bring distinct forms of greenery to strolls and picnics. Memorial purpose and everyday park life place remembrance beside sport, play, and open-air relaxation.
