Parco Biblioteca degli Alberi

At the heart of Milan, Parco Biblioteca degli Alberi forms a public green space within the Porta Nuova redevelopment. The park brings landscape design into the Garibaldi Repubblica area. Petra Blaisse and Piet Oudolf shaped its landscape through the Inside-Outside studio, giving the park a botanical library character. Circular plantings organize the park’s paths and open spaces. The grounds hold varied plant species and trees arranged in circular formations. Poetic phrases appear beside the park’s pathways throughout. A children’s play area, fitness zones, picnic benches, and relaxation spaces support different ways to use the park. Wooden chaise lounges and gentle lighting define the quieter relaxation area. A dynamic fountain adds water and light to the park’s outdoor setting. The fountain gives the landscape a changing visual focus. The design connects planting, pathways, and gathering areas without separating the park’s natural and civic roles. Benches mark the park’s picnic areas for visitors.
