Palazzo Orsini

Palazzo Orsini stands at Eleven Borgonuovo Street in Milan, joining historic architecture with the work of Giorgio Armani. The historic palace bears the Orsini family name.

Secco-Borellas began construction in the Seventeenth century, leaving the structure unfinished before the Orsini family acquired it. The Orsinis acquired the unfinished palace in 1662. The family completed the palace, shaping it to reflect its wealth and status. Its facade dates from the Nineteenth century. Architect Luigi Clerichetti redesigned the facade in the mid-Nineteenth century, introducing the building’s neoclassical character. Luigi Canonica completed the interiors in the late Eighteenth century. Grand halls and frescoes fill the interior, displaying the palace’s opulent character and decorative history. The building houses Giorgio Armani’s headquarters. There, the fashion house crafts haute couture collections within a palace combining historic rooms with contemporary design work. During events such as Milan Design Week, visitors can see the courtyard, frescoed rooms, and secret garden.
