Museo Mangini Bonomi

Museo Mangini Bonomi is a private museum in Milan, housed in a historic home on Via dell’Ambrosiana. The site reaches back to 1418 and once formed part of the ancient Roman Forum. Its late-eighteenth-century façade and early-nineteenth-century top floor show the building’s later transformations.

Emilio Carlo Mangini and his son Giuseppe founded the museum in 1985 around a collection of objects and tools from everyday life. The first floor and basement explore femininity, spirituality, work, and leisure through varied objects. A bronze portrait of Emilio Mangini stands on the ground floor, beside spaces once used for reception and administration.

The upper floors open onto living rooms furnished with sixteenth- and seventeenth-century furniture, paintings, sculptures, and other precious objects. The second floor holds a grand salon, study, and library, while the third includes a dining room and bedroom. Family-selected collections turn a former home into a detailed view of domestic life across different eras.
