Giardino Piazzale Bologna
Giardino Piazzale Bologna is a green space on Milan’s southeastern outskirts, offering room for walks, picnics, and outdoor activities. Its 16,300 square metres create a broad urban retreat where greenery replaces the intensity of nearby streets.
Studio Land designed the landscape in 2004, replacing a site once dominated by industrial buildings with a community setting. That change forms part of Milan’s wider urban renewal. Red-brick structures, large ogival windows, and wooden truss roofs preserve visible references to the area’s industrial past. The transformation gives former industrial ground a new public role within Milan.
The setting lets you leave the city’s bustle without travelling far from Milan’s core. Sustainability and urban regeneration shape the garden’s place within the southeastern city. Wooden truss roofs provide the clearest reminder of what stood here before the greenery took over.
