Auditorio Alfredo Kraus
Auditorio Alfredo Kraus stands beside Las Canteras beach, facing the water with strong lines and a silhouette like a protective lighthouse. Óscar Tusquets designed the building as a sculpted volume, and construction ran from 1993 to 1997.
The symphonic hall seats 1,656 people across roughly 1,650 square metres. Its hexagonal geometry controls sound reflections, creating clear acoustics, while transformable seating clears the floor and creates an open venue in about three minutes. Concerts with the local philharmonic share the programme with singing competitions, chamber music, jazz festivals and seasonal events.
Look towards the roof angles and watch light move across the façade, with the sea remaining close beyond the stage.
