Galerie der Schlumper
Galerie der Schlumper presents changing exhibitions on Marktstraße in Hamburg, within an atelier community devoted to art and inclusion. The space is barrier-free.
Rolf Laute founded the Schlumper atelier community in 1980, after its first workspace stood on Beim Schlump. Current works from the ateliers appear alongside pieces by individual artists who have died. Collaborative exhibitions bring together artists with and without disabilities. Atelier der Schlumper provides permanent workspaces for thirty artists working in painting, drawing, and sculpture.
Schule der Schlumper works with Louise Schröder School, bringing student groups into the atelier for practical artistic experiences. The Hans Kauffmann Foundation and Freunde der Schlumper support the nonprofit forum linking gallery, atelier, and school.
