Alma Mater
Alma Mater stands on the lawn of Kollegiengebäude I at the University of Freiburg in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. Arnold Rickert created this statue as a memorial after the First World War. Its setting brings art into the university grounds, where academic life meets remembrance of loss.
