The Historische Eingangsportal Galopprennbahn marks the former entrance to Frankfurt’s horse-racing track in the Stadtwald. The portal stands as a protected cultural monument.
The former Frankfurt track drew inspiration from Paris’s Hippodrome de Vincennes and became a prominent German horse-racing venue. The Hungarian mare Kincsem won a race there. The venue also saw the introduction of different betting systems and helped revive Frankfurt racing after the war.
