Jugendhaus
Jugendhaus in Düsseldorf serves as Germany’s national centre for Catholic youth work and connects organisations across the country. It is run by the Bund der Deutschen Katholischen Jugend and the Arbeitsstelle für Jugendseelsorge. From this base, national Catholic youth organisations receive support for activities representing the whole country. Its services include insurance for youth groups involved in many activities.
Educational materials and books leave the centre through production and distribution, sometimes alongside other publishers. Its work includes administering public funds for projects of nationwide significance, excluding international youth work. The centre represents Catholic youth organisations in discussions with ministries and bilateral youth organisations. Funding programmes support international exchanges and workcamps for young people. These programmes combine cultural exchange with community service projects.
