Alfried Felix Alwyn Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach inherited leadership of a family business established in the early nineteenth century. After the Second World War, Allied dismantling and imprisonment forced major changes across the Krupp empire. The company then turned toward industrial machinery, engineering, and international expansion, with projects in India, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Thailand, Bolivia, South Africa, and Indonesia. In Rourkela, Krupp helped build a steel centre and 100,000 workers’ houses. By the mid-1950s, West Germany alone held 69 factories and about 91,000 workers. The three overlapping wheels remain a concrete trace of that industrial legacy.
