Les jardins de la Roseraie
Les jardins de la Roseraie is a public garden in Cannes, beside Port Pierre Canto and the Croisette. It carries the official name Square du 8 mai 1945.
Created in the second half of the 1960s, the garden brings together date palms, tamarisks, Erythrina falcata, and young Jubaea spectabilis. These plantings give the site a Mediterranean character and connect it with Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur’s natural heritage.
A municipal skatepark occupies part of the garden. Its bowls, cradle, and water point serve skateboarders, rollerbladers, BMX riders, and scooter users. The garden and skatepark provide accessible outdoor space, with nearby parking and room for people with disabilities.
Open-air exhibitions and cultural events also use this setting along the Croisette. Large-format photography has appeared here during the International Festival of Fashion Photography. The garden’s coastal location places botanical interest, recreation, and public art within Cannes’s landscape.
Visitors can walk beneath trees, rest in the shade, or watch activity at the skatepark. Families, skaters, and visitors share this garden’s plants, paths, and outdoor space.
