Kinderbauernhof am Mauerplatz
Kinderbauernhof am Mauerplatz brings an open farm, play area, and learning space to Berlin’s Kreuzberg district. Gardens, grazing areas, and a clay-built community house create room for children and families to explore urban nature.
Local residents, including a mother-and-child group, established the farm in the early 1980s on a former rubble site near the Berlin Wall. Volunteers and donations helped turn the barren ground into a community meeting place, where you can see food growing, observe ecological cycles, and learn about caring for animals. Ponies, goats, sheep, donkeys, ducks, geese, chickens, and rabbits live among the gardens and play areas.
The farm welcomes people of different ages and nationalities, and wheelchair access makes the site easier to experience. A clay community house and a goat beside a garden capture its hands-on character.
