Palace Hotel Barcelona stands in Barcelona as a catalogued architectural property, formerly known as the Hotel Ritz. Its monumental facade follows classical divisions across the upper levels. Eduard Ferrès designed the project, drawing on grand hotels such as the Palace and Ritz in Madrid. Rounded pediments frame the corners and the large sign.

César Ritz initiated the hotel, whose interiors reflect the luxury conventions of grand European establishments. Lobbies, staircases, and salons carry a neoclassical decorative scheme. Ivory and cream surfaces meet black accents, while sculptural motifs and floral medallions enrich the exterior. The Spanish Civil War brought occupation, and Heinrich Himmler stayed there after the war. Legal disputes later removed the Ritz name, leaving Palace as the established name.

The property combines historic spaces with a rooftop terrace, pool, garden, restaurants, and a Mayan-inspired spa. Paintings by Ramon Casas decorate the rooftop terrace. Its themed suites honour Salvador Dalí, Josephine Baker, César Ritz, and Carlos Ruiz Zafón. Roman-style bathrooms use mosaics as their most distinctive detail. A temazcal gives the spa its clearest architectural connection to pre-Hispanic traditions.
