Hotel Duquesa de Cardona

Hotel Duquesa de Cardona stands in Barcelona’s historic centre, facing Port Vell and sitting near the beach. Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter begin nearby. Spacious rooms combine elegant, eclectic interiors with views towards the old harbour and Barcelona’s maritime setting. Two outdoor pools and a fitness centre add practical comforts.

The building began as a residence for the aristocratic Dukes of Cardona during the sixteenth century. A romantic restoration followed in 1850, creating a residence for Barcelona’s bourgeoisie. It became a hotel in 2003, while its layered past remains visible in the architecture and atmosphere. Above, a rooftop terrace opens towards the sea. Mediterranean dishes use local, seasonal products, while wicker furniture, plants, live music, and DJ sessions shape the setting.

Olentia serves a similar Mediterranean menu during its seasonal operation. From this waterfront position, you can reach the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar and the Born neighbourhood. The basilica dates from the fourteenth century and represents pure Catalan Gothic style. Passeig de Colom recalls Barcelona’s maritime development after the sea wall disappeared. Port Vell carries an ancient harbour history beside the rooftop view.
