Dorfmuseum Ipthausen

Dorfmuseum Ipthausen occupies a modest former milk house in Germany, where bright walls and a simple roof frame a glimpse of village life. Inside, tools, pictures and household objects show rural work around the year 1900.

Horse and cow equipment recalls fieldwork, while cabbage presses reveal how food was prepared for storage. A long pole called a spieß belonged to village guards who watched the farmsteads while residents attended church. Small wooden treasure chests preserve the old village bell and other local objects.
