Jardin des poètes

Jardin des poètes is a public garden in Antibes, set beside the old ramparts above the Mediterranean. The garden dates from 2022 and forms part of Antibes’ heritage project. Its planted beds contain cacti and succulents adapted to Mediterranean sun, wind, and salty sea air. Palm trees add a familiar Côte d’Azur detail. Panels across the garden display quotations from artists and celebrities inspired by the region. These panels bring literary detail into the planting. Philippe Dalmasso designed the garden for Antibes, linking drought-resistant planting with the city’s cultural and natural history. The pedestrian setting keeps this historic spot quiet. The garden lies in Antibes’ historic centre, within a pedestrian area beside the old ramparts and coastline. Wheelchair users may need assistance on the slope leading towards the ramparts. Nearby plantings of cacti and aloes extend around the Picasso Museum and Square Albert the First. The garden connects old walls, Mediterranean plants, and artistic quotations.
