Jardin de l'Îlet
Jardin de l’Îlet lies along the seafront promenade in Antibes, beside the old town and coastline. Landscaped paths and open spaces create room to walk, pause, and look across the water. From the garden, you can see the port, ramparts, old town, and mountains beyond. The promenade forms part of a longer coastal route.
Information panels reproduce paintings made from this vantage point, connecting the seafront with Antibes’ artistic history. Eugène Boudin painted Le Port d’Antibes here in spring 1893. Raymond Peynet’s 1985 work Les Amoureux aux Ramparts shows newlyweds, doves, and a cherub beside the ramparts. Paul Signac also painted several scenes nearby, including Le Port d’Antibes le Soir in 1911.
Henri Edmond Cross and Claude Monet appear on further panels along the route. Bastion Saint André and the Musée Picasso stand nearby along the promenade. Across the water, familiar mountains remain visible behind the changing port and coastline.
