Église Notre-Dame de la Pinède
Église Notre-Dame de la Pinède stands in Juan-les-Pins, Antibes, beside the Mediterranean resort created in 1881. Its transept, choir, ambulatory, and three apses date from the 1927 expansion, while the 1950s brought a new façade, gallery, baptistery, and entrance bay.
Inside, two chapels frame a marble altar made by Carrara artisans in 1930. Pierre Gaudin’s stained-glass windows from 1959, 1961, and 1962 lead your gaze towards the altar, showing saints, biblical scenes, and the seven sacraments. The choir windows made by the Mauméjean workshops in 1931, together with stone Stations of the Cross from Vallauris, add further detail.
The Chapel of the Holy Spirit holds a historic Pentecost altarpiece entrusted by Antibes in 1990, while a life-sized nativity scene appears there at Christmas. Under the altar table, a carved reproduction of Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper offers one final detail to notice.
