Jesus begegnet den weinenden Frauen von Jerusalem is the eighth station of the Cross in St. Jakobus der Ältere, Versbach, Würzburg. A sculpted scene shows Jesus meeting women who mourn as he carries the cross towards Golgotha. The episode comes from the Passion narrative in the Gospel of Luke. Jesus tells them to weep for themselves and their children, rather than for him.

The station belongs to a fourteen-part Kreuzweg created by sculptor Max Walter in 2003. Reliefs or sculptures guide the sequence through Jesus’s condemnation, crucifixion and burial. The church combines postwar architecture with a trapezoidal plan, a seventeenth-century wooden cross and baroque works. Max Walter’s Kreuzweg arrived as a gift from the Rochus Brotherhood for the church’s fortieth consecration anniversary. Medieval buildings previously stood on this site, linking the modern interior with Würzburg’s longer church history.
