Sankt Bonifatius stands at Luisenplatz in central Wiesbaden, the capital of Hesse. Philipp Hoffmann designed the Catholic church in Gothic Revival style, with twin steeples rising sixty-eight metres above the square.

Construction ran from 1844 to 1849, after an earlier Neoclassical church collapsed because its foundations were too weak. The interior was consecrated in 1849, while the facade and towers followed in later years. World War II caused major damage, and post-war restoration preserved the building for the Diocese of Limburg. Music remains central here: the 1954 organ was later enlarged, and a choir founded in 1862 performs orchestral masses by Haydn and Mozart.

Look up from Luisenplatz and the two matching towers give the church its clearest landmark.
