Erbenheimer Warte rises on a high plateau in Wiesbaden, near Fort Biehler and the border between Mainz-Kastel and Erbenheim. The round tower has a pointed stone roof and machicolations, giving the structure a clear medieval defensive character.

Built between 1492 and 1497, it formed part of the Kasteler Landwehr, a defensive system established by Archbishop Berthold von Henneberg of Mainz against raiders including the Eppstein robber knights. Its high entrance forced attackers to climb, while defenders could pull up an external ladder and retreat behind thick walls. From this lookout and signal point, warnings could reach nearby residents before they sought shelter in the fortified Castel.

A detail worth noticing is the elevated doorway, designed for security rather than convenience. A local association maintains the tower, and visits take place by appointment.
