St. Erhard - Mauer is a Roman Catholic parish church in Vienna’s Mauer district, within the twenty-third district, Liesing. It is dedicated to Saint Erhard of Regensburg. The original Gothic church was first recorded in 1458 and was designed as a fortified church. The medieval tower retains its onion-shaped dome from 1770. Between 1934 and 1936, Clemens Holzmeister led a reconstruction that rotated the nave ninety degrees and preserved the Gothic choir. The Gothic choir now serves as a side chapel within the church. Baroque works include a Pietà by Giovanni Giuliani and paintings attributed to Franz Zoller and Franz Xaver Wagenschön. Twentieth-century windows and mosaics add another layer to the interior. Albert Paris Gütersloh created the stained glass and mosaics, while Rudolf Hermann Eisenmenger made the Stations of the Cross mosaic. The organ has fourteen stops and was restored in 2012. St. Erhard - Mauer forms part of a parish association that also includes the Erlöserkirche in Liesing and Georgenberg parish. The church is listed as a wheelchair-accessible spot.
