The Ephesos Museum in Vienna presents artefacts and architectural fragments from the ancient city of Ephesos in present-day Turkey. Its collection centres on Roman sculpture, monumental reliefs and evidence of daily life. A model of the ancient city shows its topography, while architectural pieces suggest the decoration of grand buildings. The Parthian Monument remains a central highlight of the collection. The museum opened in the Neue Burg in 1978. Roman sculptures once adorned baths and the theatre of Ephesos, while fragments reveal richly decorated ancient façades.
