Chiesa di San Rocco stands in Venice as a Roman Catholic church dedicated to Saint Roch, one of the city’s patron saints. Its elaborate façade carries statues, niches, and reliefs across several levels. Bartolomeo Bon the Younger began construction between 1489 and 1508, more than five centuries ago. Bernardino Maccarucci designed the façade added between 1765 and 1771.

The church belongs to Venice’s plague churches and preserves Saint Roch’s relics, which arrived from Voghera. A bronze relief above the main door depicts the Glory of Saint Roch. Giuseppe Bernardi’s statue crowns the tympanum, while Giovanni Morlaiter’s relief shows the saint healing plague victims. Inside, paintings by Tintoretto and works attributed to him depict healing, imprisonment, solitude, and animals. Pordenone’s Saint Christopher and Saint Martin on Horseback occupy the nave’s north wall.

Beside the church, the Scuola Grande di San Rocco began as a fifteenth-century confraternity helping people during plague outbreaks. It remains the only old Scuole Grandi known to have survived the fall of the Venetian Republic. The Scuola continues its charitable work and cares for its Tintoretto collection. The marble original of the entrance relief remains inside, while its bronze copy marks the main door.
